
Ms. Friedman grew up in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. She graduated in 1976 from Oakland University with degrees in Psychology and English Literature. Ms. Friedman then lived and worked in Lansing, Michigan as the Executive Director for a non-profit agency and served as an advocate in the Michigan State Legislature.
Linda and her husband Dan moved to California in 1979 and opened several retail stores that they operated until 1988. Ms. Friedman has been a long time volunteer in the Encinitas Union and San Dieguito school districts. She has also served on the District Strategic Planning Team, the San Dieguito Academy Foundation Board and the Academy’s School Site Council as Chairman. Ms. Friedman was also a member of the New High School Task Force, which developed a conceptual plan for Canyon Crest Academy, the district’s newest high school in Carmel Valley.
Ms. Friedman and her husband, Dan, live in Encinitas and are the parents of three sons who are all graduates of San Dieguito Union High School District.
