San Dieguito Union High School District

Term of Office 2006- 2010

Ms. Groth is a native of North County. She is a graduate of Ada Harris Elementary in Cardiff, Oak Crest Junior High in Encinitas, and San Dieguito High School. Ms. Groth graduated from UCLA in 1980 with a degree in Anthropology. She also holds a degree in radiological technology. She served on the Board of Trustees of the Rancho Santa Fe School District from 1992-1996 and was on the Board of Directors of the Rancho Santa Fe Parent Teacher Organization.

Ms. Groth has served on the San Dieguito District’s Strategic Planning Team and was Chairperson of the district’s Junior High Task Force, which was formed to make recommendations regarding delivery of educational services to students in grades 7-9 and prepare for future district growth. She was formerly the President of the San Diego County School Boards Association and currently serves on the Delegate Assembly of the California School Boards Association.  Ms. Groth has held the offices of Clerk, Vice President and President of the San Dieguito Union High School District Board of Trustees. 

Ms. Groth and her husband, George, also a San Dieguito graduate, have two children who attended Earl Warren Middle School and are graduates of Torrey Pines High School. Her non-district responsibilities include the duties of business manager for her husband’s medical practice.
