Summer Bridge Program

The summer bridge program encourages elementary level students to raise the academic success bar for themselves.  The Summer Bridge Program meets for two weeks during summer, two hours a day. Students learn organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and study skills.  Students also learn to identify risky behavior and ways of handling difficult situations, including refusal skills for alcohol and other drugs. The goal of this program is to increase student interest in college preparatory classes, AVID, and honors level classes.  This early intervention will help students see themselves as students with a promising academic future.  For more information about the Summer Bridge Program, contact Adam Camacho in the counseling office.
