 DEANNA RICH
Term of Office 2006-2010
Mrs. Rich was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 1986 after serving on the Board of Trustees of the Del Mar Union Elementary District. She has represented both districts on the North City West School Facilities Financing Authority, a joint powers agency that is responsible for funding schools for new students from the Carmel Valley section of the City of San Diego. She was a member of the Delegate Assembly of the California School Boards Association beginning in 1988 and is Past President of the San Diego County School Boards Association.
Mrs. Rich is a graduate of Tufts University and holds a California Teaching Credential. She takes an active role in civic and charitable organizations including the Coastal Community Foundation and is past chairwoman of the Torrey Pines Community Planning Group. She is also a past Board member of the Children’s Creative Workshop. Prior to her election to the Board of Trustees, she was a member of the Site Council at both the elementary and middle schools and a Vice President of the parent club at Torrey Pines High School. She currently serves as President of the San Dieguito Union High School District Board of Trustees.
Mrs. Rich lives with her husband, Dr. Michael Rich, in the Del Mar Heights section of the city of San Diego. The Riches have two adult children who attended the Del Mar and San Dieguito Districts and graduated from Torrey Pines High School.
