Joyce Dalessandro
Term of Office 2004-2008

Mrs. Dalessandro spent her childhood on Long Island, New York, where she was educated in public schools. After completing her Bachelor’s degree at Cornell University in Child Psychology, she furthered her education at Columbia University, receiving a MA in Curriculum Development. She worked as Assistant to the Dean of Students at Adelphi University and has 6 years of classroom teaching experience.

A long-time community volunteer, Joyce is a past President of the Torrey Pines High School Parents Association and represented parents on the District Strategic Planning Committee. She served on the Torrey Pines Site Council and was a charter member and Vice President of Business Fundraising for the TPHS Foundation. Mrs. Dalessandro also served as Treasurer of both Grad Nite and Dollars for Scholars as well as actively participating in and heading many other committees and projects. In 1994, Mrs. Dalessandro was selected by Redbook Magazine as Volunteer of the Year for her work at Torrey Pines High School. Currently in her third term on the Board, Mrs. Dalessandro has held all Board offices, including President of the Board of Trustees.

Mrs. Dalessandro and her husband, John, live in Del Mar. Their daughters, Amy and Summer, are graduates of Torrey Pines High School. Amy is a graduate of Arizona State University, and Summer completed her degree at Cornell University, and recently graduated from Law School at University of San Diego.
