Maureen "Mo" Muir
Term of Office 2014-2022
Trustee Maureen "Mo" Muir is a graduate of the University of San Diego with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. She served on the Encinitas Union School District Board of Trustees from 2008-2014 where she has served as Clerk of the Board as well as Board Liaison to the North Coastal Consortium for Special Education (NCCSE).
Mo has served on community committees and boards including First Five San Diego Technical and Professional Advisory Committee, the advisory board of the non-profit Lifesharing, a division of the UCSD Medical Center focusing on organ and tissue donation. She is also a member of Kiwanis, served on the Northview Homeowners Board of Directors and the Encinitas Friends of the Library Board.
Mo is involved in her son's education having served as a Math 24 facilitator at the Encinitas Union School District, a sports team mom, homeroom mom, and a grant writer. She has written grants for Biztown and received the 2014 Baron grant which awarded 20 laptops to Diegueno Middle School. She also previously served as Parent Teacher Association Vice President and was recognized as "Educator of the Year" in 2010 from the New Encinitas Business Network.
Mo began her first term as school board member for the San Dieguito Union High School District in December of 2014 and is currently serving her second term. Mo and her husband Mark, currently reside in Encinitas. Their son Scotland is a graduate of La Costa Canyon High School.
