Trustee Michael Allman received an MBA with a Finance specialization from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University.

 

Mr. Allman has had a 40-year business career that began as a chemical engineer and business analyst, followed by ten years as an international management consultant that included postings in Chicago, Johannesburg, London and Los Angeles.  

 

Michael moved to San Diego with his wife and two young children in 1998 when he joined Sempra Energy, where he held a number of senior executive roles.  Michael was the CEO of Sempra Renewables where he pioneered the large-scale solar power industry, and later served as Chairman and CEO of the nation’s largest natural gas distribution company.  Mr. Allman became a technology entrepreneur in 2012, and today serves on several Boards of Directors.

 

Mr. Allman is committed to improving the performance of our school district, with a focus on improved board governance, transparency, and accountability.  Michael is passionate about putting the needs of parents and students first, and encourages active parental involvement in district governance.

 

Michael lives in Rancho Santa Fe with his wife Lee Ann, and they have two grown children.
