San Dieguito Union High School District

Sunset High School is our alternative high school in SDUHSD. We have earned full accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and were named a Model Continuation High School by the California Department of Education for 2003-2008.

Sunset is designed to give extensive help to students in need of flexibility and individualized attention. The majority of our students are involved in one of the support groups that play a large part in the students' readiness to learn. We believe that students must take responsibility for their school progress and their lives. Our goal is to empower them in this process. We learn, grow, and improve alongside our students.

 

Our mission at Sunset is to develop respectful, responsible, self-directed learners by fostering a safe, supportive, and flexible learning environment in which students can experience academic success and personal growth. We are dedicated to inspiring students to strive, learn and succeed, thus encouraging them to manifest their potential.
